Flying Canoe Volant

We took in a neat festival last night in Mill Creek Ravine that celebrates French Canadian, First Nations, and Métis traditions.

Astotin Lake

Grateful for a chance to leave the city behind for a few hours, and spend time with some very dear people this weekend. Sunset photos got a bit more life when these paddlers pushed off from Sandy Beach, Astotin Lake, Elk Island National Park.

Team Canada

Fans rise to their feet in Commonwealth Stadium following Team Canada's winning penalty kick during the opening match of the FIFA Women's World Cup, June 6, 2015. The game drew a record-setting crowd of 53, 058.

Nova Scotia/Toronto

A few moments from a week in Nova Scotia and a week in Toronto.

Good Friday

Every Good Friday for 35 years, a crowd has carried a wooden cross through Edmonton's urban core for the Way of The Cross. It is an ecumenical prayer event where participants stop at stations in the community to reflect and pray about contemporary issues of concern. The themes this year were justice and reconciliation.

Skijoring, Lake Minnewanka

A pair skijor across Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park. The morning was incredibly still and clear, making their voices and the crunching of the snow sound as though they were much closer.

Fireworks Faces

Edmontonians gaze up at fireworks over Churchill Square during the first minutes of 2015. Look behind you during a fireworks show and you will see such a variety of expressions and reactions. It's like turning around in the movie theatre while the film is playing.
