Despite chilly weather, thousands gathered in the Legislature's backyard April 20th for the annual pro cannabis rally. I wish the year's other demonstrations--those calling for improvements in social policy, ​fighting education cuts, or drawing attention to environmental issues--would draw the same numbers.


#CAPSE Rally

Hundreds of students and faculty marched across the High-Level to rally outside the Alberta Legislature, March 15, protesting huge cuts to post-secondary education spending in the recent provincial budget. Reading Week

We headed out to the West Coast for Reading Week, dividing our brief time between my Aunty Jude's house on Bowen Island and my parents place on the East side of Vancouver Island. The change of scenery was welcome - there is colour over there!

Thanksgiving

Rhoda and I opted for the scenic route to her family's cabin at Jackfish Lake, SK. Turns out there is a cable ferry over the North Saskatchewan River! I'm always looking for the right rear-view mirror driving shot.
